Privacy Regulations and Standards

Two Dog Net, Inc. providing the service of The Children’s Internet strictly abides by all guidelines of Federal Trade Commission, the six principles of The Children's Advertising Review Unit (CARU) of the Council of Better Business Bureau, and the principles of The Online Privacy Alliance.

Disclosures

As part of the registration process, Two Dog Net collects and maintains individually identifiable information on adult and children users. However, Two Dog Net keeps all individually identifiable information of its users in the strictest of confidence. In other words, Two Dog Net will never release to outsiders any information that can specifically identify one of our users.

In addition to parent information collected, Two Dog Net collects, through adults, the following information about children users: first name, nickname, gender, date of birth. Two Dog Net will use information that individually identifies children for the following reasons only

1. To keep track of parent-determined security preferences;

2. To keep track of customization preferences of each child;

3. To develop online programming for Two Dog Net;

4. To track users in our incentive system, and to send awards to children who participate in our incentive system;

5. To respond to users who take part in Two Dog Net contests;

6. To set up e-mail accounts, and maintain e-mail security;

7. To maintain security in the chat area.

Two Dog Net will only reveal to third parties aggregate information about our children. In other words, Two Dog Net will only collect and reveal to third parties information such as the number of The Children's Internet users; demographic information on our users (age, gender, cities of residence); the average amount of time The Children's Internet users spend online; the average amount of time spent in each The Children's Internet content area; and how survey results vary according to demographic profile. Most importantly, The Children's Internet will NEVER reveal information that identifies our children users individually.

On the Site, we explicitly discourage users under 18 from submitting personal information. If a child submits personal information, that information is immediately discarded by an authorized Security or IT representatives and is manually withheld from the content that is posted to areas of the site that are viewable by other online subscribers.

Parents have the right to request access to their child's personal information or request deletion of the child's personal information. The parent may exercise these rights by contacting techsupport@tcimail.net

Unless you are an adult and you personally divulge personal information, we will not give out information that would link your profile, user ID, or nickname with your actual name without your (or, if you are a child under the age of 18, your parent's or guardian’s) prior consent.

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user’s computer for record-keeping purposes. We use cookies on this site. We do link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site.

Use of Parents' Information

Two Dog Net’s registration form for The Children’s Internet requires parents to give us contact information (like their name and email address), financial information (like credit card numbers), and demographic information (like their billing address). We use customer contact information from the registration form to send the user information about our company, updates for our software, and to send merchandise orders from our electronic commerce or incentive system. The customer's contact information is also used to contact the customer when necessary. Financial information that is collected is used to check the users' qualifications for registration and to bill the user for products and services. Regarding the use of this information, Two Dog Net 1) gives parents the ability to opt out of information rental, sale or exchange, and 2) honors customer requests not to have their contact information transferred to others for marketing purposes.

Choice/Opt-out

Two Dog Net will not share your personal information with any third parties or partners. We do not sell our lists nor will we contact you with any promotions that are not directly related to your Children’s Internet Membership. We provide you the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having your personally identifiable information used for certain purposes, when we ask for this information. For example, if you purchase a product/service but do not wish to receive any additional marketing material from us, you can indicate your preference on our order form.

If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each newsletter or communication or by emailing us at techsupport@tcimail.net. You will be notified when your personal information is collected by any third party that is not our agent/service provider, so you can make an informed choice as to whether or not to share your information with that party.

Access to Personally Identifiable Information

If your personally identifiable information changes, or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct it by making the change on our Parent’s Page Customer Support at techsupport@tcimail.net or by contacting us by telephone or postal mail at the contact information listed below.

Tell-A-Friend

If you choose to use our referral service to tell a friend about our site, we will ask you for your friend’s name and email address. We will automatically send your friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the site. Two Dog Net does not store this information, it is for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email.

Your friend may contact us at techsupport@tcimail.net to request that we remove this information from our database.

Legal Disclaimer

We reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information as required by law and when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on our Web site

Demographic and Profile Data

Demographic and profile data on parents and children is also collected at our site. For example, our site uses digital files ("digital cookies") residing on parent's computers to keep track of the ages of children, nicknames of children, birthdays of children, gender of children, our incentive system, to deliver content specific to users' interests, and for other purposes. We use this data to tailor the visitor's experience within our service, showing content that we think may be of interest to them, and displaying the content according to their preferences. This information is shared with advertisers on an aggregate basis only.

Links and Accessible Web Sites

Through our Safe Zone Technology, The Children's Internet controls access to third party web sites. Two Dog Net is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. While we review these sites on a regular basis and make every effort to ensure that there are no inappropriate sites in our system, ultimately we are not responsible for the content on third party sites.

Two Dog Net has co-branding and sponsorship relationships with certain business partners. These partners do not have direct access to any private information that Two Dog Net collects; however, Two Dog Net does share aggregate information about its user base with these partners.

Security

Two Dog Net is committed to protecting all confidential data collected from users, and accordingly, Two Dog Net has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. Any information transmitted from your PC to our servers will be sent using encryption software. All user information is placed on servers that are inaccessible to anyone other than the authorized personnel in our offices.
